06 - Sea Lion (40) - Allies - Turn 15 of 15

September 1, 1940: Germany now sets its sights on England.

AXIS:
a.i. advanced
ALLIES: player

PLAN
As usual, destroy enemy air force, destroy enemy naval force, destroy enemy units, if possible conquer enemy bases, Cherbourg and Calais. Draw a defense line, from Bristol to London, and don't let the enemy cross it. Leave the coastal towns including Canterbury to the enemy, as they're impossible to hold because they're under fire from german ships and enemy units outnumber allies. Bring all units in the north to the front otherwise they will be useless. English player has got plenty of prestige but few free slots, so disbanding weak or distant units can be useful to reinforce front. Defending is much easier than attacking, the scenario is not demanding at all, a sure win.

TURN 1 - AXIS

Losses are minimal. Unfortunately english infantry units in Dover and Hastings are blocked and doomed. Four enemy air transports carrying paratroopers are flying over London, they have to be dealt with, otherwise they will land in the north and will be a serious menace.

TURN 1 - ALLIES
West naval group heads toward south map edge to avoid encounter with german subs. English units retreat from coast. Matilda II and HW infantry attack german artillery near Newhaven and destroy it. A Panzer IIIE near Tunbridge Wells is attacked and almost destroyed. A german air transport over London is brought down, another one is reduced to 3 strength points. In the north, infantry with no transport go to airfields, all other units head south to join the battle. Two air defenses are purchased in London.

TURN 2 - AXIS
Germans attack at full force. British lose 2 infantry, 1 artillery, 1 anti tank, 2 fighters. The London sky is occupied by 11 german planes. Blood, sweat and tears.

TURN 2 - ALLIES
Fire! One BF 109 is taken down over London, the others are reduced in strength. German paratroopers which have occupied an airfield near Tunbridge Wells are destroyed.

TURN 3 - AXIS
Another harsh turn. Germans destroy the infantry in Dover, another one in London and an air defense in Winchester, plus take down a Spitfire in Winchester from 10 to 1 strength point.

TURN 3 - ALLIES
German units attacking Winchester are damaged. Over London, a BF109 and two air transports carrying paratroopers are taken down. The level bombers are severely damaged and trapped. In Cherbourg, an air defense unit is destroyed by naval fire.

TURN 4 - AXIS
Germans attack London and occupy Tunbridge Wells but their lines are getting weaker. The attack on Winchester is turned down. There are still nine planes over London. The tide is turning.

TURN 4 - ALLIES
The german infantry unit near Winchester is attacked and destroyed. Over London, one JU87B, two BF109E and five level bombers are shot down by air defense and Spitfires. A PzIVD is destroyed by a fort.

TURN 5 - AXIS
Germans attack, main problem now is fire from ships where Thames meets the sea. An air defense is destroyed.

TURN 5 - ALLIES
Turn 5 is the turning point. Twelve enemy units are destroyed: a BF109, a JU87B and a BF110 over London, a destroyer on the east coast, an air transport over Canterbury carrying a paratrooper unit, an infantry unit defending Bournemouth and a heavy cruiser nearby, then three PzIIIE, an infantry unit and a PzIVD in London. The first goal has been accomplished, the enemy air force has been eliminated, now the second step is to ged rid with the naval force which is the only menace remained. An infantry unit has landed in Cherbourg and a paratrooper unit has touched ground near Le Havre.

TURN 6 - AXIS
Germans attack till the last man, this is hard as some of our units gets killed, but makes things easier as enemy is exposed to lethal counterattack. Another air defense is lost in London but they're no useful anymore, as there are no enemy planes left, sowe can get along. Destroyers are attacked by U-boots near Bournemouth, one is severely damaged, so it will be hard to sink them.

TURN 6 - ALLIES
One of Cherbourg airfields is occupied by english infantry.
On the east coast, the german battleship is sunk, the other vessels are damaged. In London, a PzIIIE, a Pz38(t)A and the Pioneer unit are killed. Thirteen land units remain on sacred british soil. The end is in sight.

TURN 7 - AXIS
Germans attack again, reducing an english infantry on the east coast down to 1 strength point, now it's just a matter of time before the end.

TURN 7 - ALLIES
Cherbourg and Le Havre are taken, while Calais is defended by an air defense and several PzIIIE.
A heavy cruiser and a sub are sunk near the Thames, and two tanks and two air defenses in London, now the enemy is completely halpless against british air force. Priority now is to destroy the battleship and the heavy cruiser in Newhaven area.

TURN 8 - AXIS
Enemy units are dwindling down, anyway they are still attacking, an english infantry unit is destroyed in this turn.

TURN 8 - ALLIES
The massacre goes on. A T-boat is sunk at Le Havre, in London one artillery, two infantry, one recon, one paratrooper and one heavy cruiser, one destroyer and one T-boat are eliminated. Five land enemy units remain on british soil. Three airfields are taken on french territory.

TURN 9
Axis activity is now negligible. In allies turn, an airfield is taken near Cherbourg and another one near Le Havre. Infantry lands on french coast to occupy Dieppe. A german infantry is eliminated at Tunbridge Wells and the town is re-taken. A PzIIIG is then destroyed. Chatham is taken. Dover is taken. Now only an antitank enemy unit is left on british soil. Three Matilda II are purchased in Le Havre to fight the PzIIIE's defending the last objective.

TURN 10
Axis: in France, axis tanks attack and destroy an infantry unit in an airfield.
Allies: a sub is sunk and the battleship is also sunk. The last german unit in England is destroyed and Canterbury is freed. Second and third objectives have been conquered: destroy enemy naval force and land units. Now let's take the last objective: Calais. The air defense in Calais is destroyed by english naval fire.

TURN 11
Rain! A recon unit is destroyed near Dieppe. An anti-tank one is destroyed in Calais. Ships encroach. Planes encroach.

TURN 12
All units on Calais. Unfortunately naval fire is almost useless against panzers. A flock of Matildas are coming from the south.

TURN 13
A german T-boat sinks a british destroyer. A german tank and an anti-tank unit in Calais are destroyed. Now five tanks are left.

TURN 14
The last T-boat is sunk. Another tank and an anti-tank in Calais are destroyed.

TURN 15
All german units are destroyed except for a tank. English units conquer all airfields and Calais. Scenario is finished. Could have been done earlier if Dieppe had been occupied first.

GAME OVER
